There is a new commercial on TV now, about drinking water. You may have seen it. It’s the one where the girl can’t get away from the endless glasses of water that are following her around. It’s actually an ad for Crystal Light, but it still gets the point across about drinking more water each day. We have all heard all our lives that we need to drink more water. We need 8 – 10 glasses a day or 10 – 12 glasses for men. If we are constantly hearing about this issue why do most of us ignore it? Do we think that it’s not that serious of an issue?
Many people simply do not realize that a lot of their health problems can be avoided if they just drank more water. Some people also think that because there is water in soda, juice, alcohol and coffee, they are still getting enough water by drinking these beverages every day. However, the caffeine and sugar in these drinks actually cancel out the benefits of the water in them, and they don’t count at all to your daily water requirement!
Water isn’t just one of the beverages out there; it’s not just a requirement – it’s mandatory! Your body needs it to survive and live healthily. Here are just some of the benefits that drinking lots of water daily can give you:
- More energy: It is a proven fact that water gives you energy. Your body needs all the water it can get just to help your organs and cells work well. When everything inside is working well, your body doesn’t have to use so much energy trying to make it all work, therefore, you have more energy.

- Flushes toxins: Drinking lots of water flushes disease and bacteria toxins out of your system on an hourly basis. This is important to ward off diseases and other ailments.
- Younger looking skin: Water has been proven to smooth out wrinkles and give you younger looking skin, but you’ve got to drink a lot of it to get these kinds of benefits. I would recommend drinking 1 – 2 liters a day.
