Beauty & Skincare Tips – What Vitamins And Minerals Are Good For The Skin?

When you eat healthy, you will get most or all of the essential vitamins and minerals that are required for good skin. But, there are times when supplements are needed to make sure enough vitamins and minerals are consumed, especially during stressful situations or to simply boost a person’s general wellbeing. Many people wonder what vitamins and minerals are good for the skin. There are many, so let’s take a look at them.

Beauty & Skincare TipsAlpha-Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant that is more powerful than Vitamin C or E. It is also considered to be a super boost for aging skin. This skin nutrient is able to penetrate both water and oil, so it affects skin cells from both the outside and the inside.
Selenium is one of the lesser known nutrients that is good for the skin and can protect the skin from sun damage. This mineral is found in seafood, garlic, eggs, and whole-grain cereals.

Zinc is a common mineral that is found in a lot of skincare products because it has long been known to be good for the skin. This mineral works wonders on acne, which sometimes is a symptom of a zinc deficiency. When taken internally, Zinc clears skin by slowing down the production of oil. Zinc also controls the formation of pimples and will speed up the healing process of pimples already on your face so that they will heal and disappear sooner.

Vitamin C is not only used to treat the common cold, but it can reduce the risks of sun exposure. This vitamin is good for the skin because it reduces damage caused by free radicals, which is a harmful byproduct of smoke, pollution, and sunlight. Free radicals work havoc on elastin and collagen, causing signs of aging like wrinkles. Vitamin C works best when taken with Vitamin E so it will be absorbed easily by the body. Vitamin C and E also work together to protect skin from the effects of sun exposure.

Vitamin E is also an antioxidant that works to reduce the harmful effects of the sun. It can also reduce wrinkles and make your skin feel and look smoother and softer. Vitamin E is found in many forms including lotions, creams and pills. This vitamin works very well for skin conditions and is excellent at soothing dry and rough skin.

Vitamin A is essential to our health and is needed for the repair and maintenance of skin tissue. Vegetables and fruits are loaded with Vitamin A. There have been many medical studies done that have shown that a reduction in wrinkles, psoriasis relief, and good acne control are all benefits of Vitamin A.
Vitamin B Complex is a combination of several types of Vitamin B. The most important one is biotin, which forms the basis of nail, hair, and skin cells. When a person has a Vitamin B Complex deficiency they may experience hair loss, dermatitis, or other skin conditions. Even just a minor lack of Vitamin B Complex can cause these unwanted symptoms.
