Beauty & Skincare Tips : Tips on Eyelash Enhancement

Thick and long eyelashes are envied by all. Millions of dollars a year are spent on mascara to add volume and length to a woman’s existing eyelashes. But for some, mascara simply is not enough. When you are looking for that extra touch to really make your eyes shine and your eyelashes noticeable, try some of these tried and true eyelash enhancements.

Eyelash EnhancementOne of the easiest ways to enhance your eyelashes is by using makeup. You probably already own everything that is needed to color your eyelids in a way that will bring out the color of your eyes and make your eyelashes more prominent. The trick is to apply a light shade of eye shadow to make your eyelids stand out more. Try a white or off white color. Apply a shadow with shimmer for evenings, while a light matte color is great for a daytime look. You can also add lightening cream underneath your eye to cover any dark circles and make your eyes stand out even more.

Eyelash curlers are an inexpensive way to make your eyes look wide open and make you appear alert and well rested. There are metal eyelash curlers and electric heated eyelash curlers. Of course the metal ones are a lot more cost friendly. Both tools gently bend the eyelashes back, creating an open look. The bend is not permanent and would need to be done each time you apply your makeup. If you have short lashes, be very careful not to burn your eyes if you are using a heated eyelash curler. Just like hair that has been over styled, using a heated eyelash curler can cause eyelash damage over time and your lashes could break and fall out. If you do use a heated eyelash curler often, consider using eyelash oils to keep your lashes healthy.

There is the possibility of having a more permanent bend placed onto your lashes by a professional. Just like eyelash tinting, this process will last for about four to six weeks. People that have this treatment to enhance their eyelashes should also apply eyelash oils in-between treatments to keep lashes healthy and strong.

False eyelashes are another way to enhance your eyelashes. You can purchase them at a beauty supply store or your local pharmacy. These come in single lashes or a complete upper lash section and they are glued directly onto your eyelid with special adhesive. False eyelashes can give your eyes a dramatic look, which is especially great for a night out on the town or when you are attending a special event.

Eyelash extensions are a type of false eyelashes. They are small sections of hair that are glued in-between your real lashes. These extensions are longer than your real lashes, creating long and lush eyelashes. For those of you that are a bit edgy, you can purchase eyelash extension in a variety of colors including silver and gold. It will take some practice to get these extension applied correctly. Using tweezers to hold the small sections of fake lashes works well.
